John Weeks Field was born on June 9, 1913, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, his father, Nathaniel, was 39 and his mother, Jessie Weeks, was 37 and his sister Rosemary was 12. He graduated from Syracuse University, where he met his wife. He married Norma Joyce Fitch and they had two children together, Nancy Fitch Field and John Weeks Field Jr. After Norma died of cancer in 1982, he then married Grace Newell in 1984 in Englewood, Florida. John died on March 26, 2006, in Venice, Florida, at the age of 92. He was survived by his daughter, Nancy F. Oudheusden, and two granddaughters, Julie Young (Timothy), and Melanie Young, and six grandchildren, John, Ben & Maggie of Nebraska, and Keegan, Holden and Violet of New York.
