She grew up in Missouri and married James M. Campbell, a Civil War veteran, on January 9, 1879, in Laclede County. The couple eventually moved to Springfield, Missouri and lived out their lives there, but they were no longer married at the time of Frances' death in 1919; her death certificate indicates she was his widow, but James Campbell had remarried before 1919 and he died in 1921.
Frances' remains were transported back to Laclede County to be buried in North Liberty Cemetery, where her birth family were buried.
