Mrs. Carl Barnes Dies at Age 93; Funeral Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. Carl Barnes, 148 South Park Street, were held Friday at the Lunenschloss-Hansen Chapel. The Rev. Wesley Hunter officiated and burial was in the Richland Center cemetery beside her husband, who died Jan. 7, 1965.

The former Winnie Jane Fowler, she was born Sept. 28, 1872, in the town of Henrietta, her parents being Burgess and Mary Jane Norman Fowler. She was married Aug. 22, 1906, and her home has since been in Richland Center. Mr. Barnes was associated with A.H. Krouskop and Company for 58 years, retiring in 1948. Both were loyal members of the local Methodist church and the church's parsonage was the gift of Mr. and Mrs. Barnes. In 1962 they made a very substantial financial gift to the Wesley Foundation in Platteville.

Mrs. Barnes is survived by three daughters, Miss Mary Barnes, Platteville, Mrs. Earl Shannon, Albuquerque, N.M., Miss Margaret Barnes, Sierra Madre, Calif., and a half brother, Elgin Fowler, Wausau.
