Clyde D. Duffee of 404 W. 3rd Street died at 11:45 am Saturday in St. Vincent's Hospital, Erie, following an extended illness. He was born in Oil City, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Duffee.
He lived here his entire life. For several years he owned and conducted the Duffee Motor Express, Inc., which operated a trucking business between here and Pittsburgh, and between here and Bradford. About 2 years ago he sold the business due to ill health. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, active in church organizations, and a member of the Men's Bible Class. During the past year he served on the local ration board for the OPA, was a member of the local Kiwanis Club, and the South Side Business Men's Association.
Surviving are his wife, Ida; a daughter, Mrs. Reed Platt of Oil City; a brother, Frank, of Nickleville; and a sister, Mrs. Charles Long, of Franklin.
Services will be at 2 pm Tuesday at the family home, W. 3rd Street, with Dr. Thomas H. Morris, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
