Roy Burt dies; ran bike shop
Roy C. Burt, 76, who had formerly owned and operated Burt's Bicycle Shop on Second St., died today at 3:30 p.m. in the home of his son, Eugene, 6494 Lake Ave., after a long illness.
A native of Knoxville, Tenn. Mr. Burt and his wife, Catherine, had lived in California and Florida after leaving Elyria because of Mr. Burt's health. They returned here to the home of the son about a month ago.
Surviving Mr. Burt in addition to his wife and son is a granddaughter, Diana Burt. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
The Rev. J. Kenneth Evans, pastor of Washington Avenue Christian Church will officiate at the funeral service Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Wainwright Funeral Home.. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
