Rupert L. Bencini, 73, 3116 Nebraska Ave., Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Murphysboro died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 1984, at his home.

Mr. Bencini was a retired accountant for Mesa Petroleum Company of Amarillo.

He was born May 28, 1911, in Murphysboro to Edward L. and Maria Bencini. He married Genevieve Bencini.

Rupert graduated from Murphysboro Township in 1929. He then graduated from Monmouth College. He was a member of the Theta Upsilon Omega fraternity, Zeta Beta chapter.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rupert Leslie Bencini of Monroeville, Pa., Denzel Bencini of Amarillo; a granddaughter; a brother, William Bencini Sr. of Murphysboro; five nephews and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday in Amarillo, Texas.

Visitation will take place at Boxwell Funeral Home in Amarillo, Texas.
