I was born and raised in Murphysboro, Jackson County, Ill. After retiring from teaching, I became involved in genealogy and then almost everything concerning Murphysboro and its people. |
I am most proud of my virtual cemeteries, especially the one honoring the teachers and staff of the Murphysboro school system.
Through it all, Find A Grave has been an enormous help. Because of it, I have made new acquaintances and friendships. I am especially thankful for my friendship with Laura Whistle Cates Duncan.

You're welcome Ann.
|Paul Hoyt||RE: Robert Lee Bilderback|
You're welcome Ann. Lee & Dorothy were fine people. Dorothy was distantly related to Linda through the Piersons. We all attended the same church for awhile. Lee's brother Russell was a neighbor when I was a kid. I delivered papers to his brother Calvin when I was young. His sister Roberta lived up the road from us when she died. And I remember his brother Willis trying to get a cat out of a cage, wearing a pair of welding gloves. Unsuccessfully, I might add. All good memories!

It was a pleasure, Ann.
|Paul Hoyt||Ray Hamilton?|
Ann - was Ray Hamilton a civil engineer for IDOT? I remember a Ray Hamilton there when I was a young man. Nice guy, if that was him.

You're welcome Ann. I just turned this thing on and saw your transfer request. I'da done it sooner if I had been here.
|Paul Hoyt||RE: Donald Rawson|
You're welcome Ann. I remember the name "Rawson's Radiater Shop", a Murphysboro business from the sixties. Was Donald involved in that business?
|Paul Hoyt||Donald E. Rawson|
Thanks for the tip Ann. Would you like a transfer?
