Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 24, 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey with Father Patrick A. McLaughlin celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cornlea. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the church with a vigil service at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. at the church.
Joan “Bunny” Noonan was born November 5, 1931 to Matthew and Nella (Bender) Schumacher in Humphrey, Nebraska.
Bunny grew up on a farm near Cornlea, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cornlea She also attended school in Cornlea. On October 8, 1951, she was united in marriage with Mark Noonan. Four children were born to this union.
Bunny was an integral part of Mark’s farming and business endeavors Travelling with her husband Mark, playing cards, spending time with friends and family, and garage saling were a few of her favorite activities.
She is survived by her children, James (Mary) Noonan, Roxanne (Roger) Bode, Douglas (Cheryl) Noonan, and Marie Noonan; brother Dale (Nell) Schumacher; sister Arlene Schumacher; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding Bunny in death are her parents, husband Mark, brothers Sylvester, Harold, Gerald, Alvin, and Maynard Schumacher and sisters Mildred Gronenthal and Marlyn Schumacher.
