Charles Hubert Becker, 77, of 1078 Petri Lane died Sunday, March 5, 2000, at Pekin Hospital.

Born Oct. 6, 1922, in Mason City to Charles Otto and Mary Jane Mae McCarty Becker, he married Mary Elizabeth Baker on Sept. 15, 1946, in South Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Dale of Lansing; one daughter, Barbara (and Roger) Young of Valparaiso, Ind.; and twin sisters, Florine (and William) Bushell of Lincoln and Darlene Behrens of New York.

He was preceded in death by one son, Howard, on Sept. 2, 1974; two brothers; and one sister.

A World War II Marine Corps veteran serving in the Pacific, he was an Iwo Jima survivor.

He worked for Corn Products Corp. in Pekin for 38 years, retiring as a pipe fitter on June 1, 1980.

Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
