Helen Lewis Barr, age 78, of Hillsboro Lane, Springfield, passed away at 6:30 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2018 at her home after an illness. A native of Washington County, she was born on September 7, 1939 to the late Cleo and Anna Ruth Haydon Lewis. She was a member of the St. Dominic Catholic Church, a homemaker and a retired employee of the former Modine Manufacturing Company of Harrodsburg.

Preceded in death by two great grandsons, Brady Gabhart and Tristan Gabhart; four sisters, Lois Jean Lewis, Linda Hamilton, Patsy Clark and Pam Curtsinger and four brothers, Tony, Roger, Bobby and Hershel Lewis.

Survivors include her husband, Donnie Barr; four daughters, Mary Ann Barr of Springfield, Theresa Gabhart (Randy) of Willisburg, Carol Barr of Springfield and Janice Mitchell (Harold) of Lawrenceburg; three sons, Donnie Lynn Barr, Austin Barr and Ralph Barr all of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Peggy Bowman of Indiana, Judy McDonough (Steve) of Tennessee, Charlene Hill and Debbie Hill (Ronnie) of Louisville and two brothers, Billy Lewis of Louisville and Terry Lewis (Cindy) of Willisburg.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 12, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Terry McIlvoy, officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
