Services for Pauline W. Schmitz, 64, rural Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rumesy Funeral Home with the Rev. Nick Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Eudora Cemetery.
Mrs. Schmitz died Friday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 21, 1923, in Hardin, Mo. She moved to Lawrence in 1946 from Excelsior Springs, Mo., and worked for Hallmark for 22 years. She retired in January 1983. She then worked for two years as a visiting Nurses Assn. She also was an avid bowler. She married James C. "Bud" Schmitz on March 28, 1942, in Bonner Springs. He survives of the home. Survivors include three sons, Joseph of Dallas, James Jr. of Tonganoxie and Richard of Lawrence; two brothers, Donald W. Withers of Eldon, Mo., and George T. Withers of Arlington, Tex.; a half-brother, George L. Frey, Ottawa; two sisters, Barbara J. Evans, Baldwin, and
Pearl L. Church, Las Vegas, Nev.; and four grandchildren.
