Mr. Frey died Saturday, June 5, 1993, at Ottawa Retirement Village.
He was born Nov. 14, 1913, in Batesville, Ark., to Albert and Mary Frey. He grew up in Arkansas and lived for a while in Little Rock, Ark.
He was an evangelist for more than 40 years. He retired from the Marley Co. in Olathe, and had lived for several years in Ottawa.
He married Emma Lou Sullins on March 28, 1987, in Shawnee.
Survivors include his wife of Ottawa; three sons, George Frey Jr., Rocky Mount, Mo., Joseph Frey Sr., Lee's Summit, Mo., and James Starr, Ottawa; four daughters, Mary Hartley, Kansas City, Linda Mills, Shawnee, Connie Tschantz, Chugiak, Alaska, and Karen Rose, Ottawa; two brothers, Donald Whithers, Rocky Mount, Mo., and George Thomas, of Texas; two sisters, Barbara Evans, Lawrence, and Pearl Church, Las Vegas.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael David Frey, a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter.
