Carlisle “Dudge” H. Humphrey, age 85, of Battletown, KY passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, KY.

Dudge was born on November 1, 1932 in Battletown, KY, son of the late Corbett Lee and Josephine Irene Bennett Humphrey. His two sisters, Roberta May Brown and Althea Dell Mills; and three brothers, R.L. Humphrey, Corbett Mitchell Humphrey, and Taylor Martin Humphrey also preceded him in death.

Dudge was a member of Cold Spring Baptist Church in Battletown as well as a member of Teamsters Local 89 in Louisville. Dudge enjoyed spending time with his family and loved all children. He was known as “Uncle Dudge” to many.

He is survived by his wife, Rena Lou Humphrey of Battletown, KY; daughter, Shelia Darlene (James “Winkie”) Justice of Washington, IN; grandchildren, Joseph “Joey” Justice and Andrea (Timothy) Strange of Washington, IN; great-grandchildren, Cole Levi and Eli Colt Strange; and his two sisters, Dalcye Dean Humphrey of Brandenburg and Joan Bonita Mattingly of Battletown.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 29, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. EST from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with burial to follow in Cap Anderson Cemetery in Brandenburg.
