Taylor Martin Humphrey, 72, Battletown, died March 22, 2002, at Harrison County Hospital, Corydon, IN. He was born September 28, 1929, in Meade County, the son of the late Corbett Lee Humphrey & Josephine Irene Bennett Humphrey. He was a member of Harrison Masonic Lodge #122 F&AM. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Roberta Brown and Althea Dell Mills; and 2 brothers, R.L. Humphrey and Mitchell Humphrey. Mr. Humphrey is survived by his wife, Sylvia Irene Hockman Humphrey; 4 children, Jerry Lavon Humphrey, Clarkson, TN, Theodore Lee Humphrey, Larry Martin Humphrey and Dennis Darrell Humphrey, all of Battletown; 2 sisters, Dalcye Humphrey, Brandenburg, and Joan Mattingly, Battletown; a brother, Carlisle Humphrey, Battletown; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 25, 2002, from the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with Rev Stewart Skaggs officiating. Burial was in Hardin Bennett Cemetery, Battletown. Pallbearers were Davey Humphrey, Darrell Humphrey, Heather Humphrey, Shanon Humphrey, Shane Humphrey and Mark Humphrey.
