She was born at home on September 3rd, 1940. Linda weighed 1 1/2 lbs at birth and survived to live a wonderful life. Linda was a special joy to everyone who encountered her. She was often referred to as the "Mayor" of the Middleground community because she knew everyone and knew all that went on. She enjoyed making friends and had a childlike view of life. We believe she is now surrounded by all those loved ones in Heaven who have gone on before her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie A. Allen and Nezzie Akins Allen. Also in death, her brothers, Robbie Dean Allen, Donald Allen and her sisters, Willie Lee Fincher and Betty Sue Lowery.
She is survived by her brother, Barney Lee Allen, Sr., Statesboro and sister, Doris Allen Bradley, also of Statesboro. Also surviving a sister-in-law, Harriett Allen.
Although Linda never had any children of her own, she has several loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who brought her much joy and she brought much joy to them.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2:00pm in the chapel. Interment will be in Upper Mill Creek Cemetery.
