Rev. Joseph Madison Jackson, 79, a resident of Ruxton Health Care of Staunton passed away Sunday afternoon, July 17, 2005 at Augusta Medical Center. He was born February 19, 1926 in Afton, son of the late Joseph and Estelle Perry Jackson. Rev. Jackson was a retired Pentecostal minister and was also retired from Genicom with 29 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Christine Nadine Fisher Jackson, his second wife, Shirley Jackson, two sons, Jerry and Timmy Jackson and a grandson, Travis Jackson. Survivors include two sons, Samuel Jackson and his wife Angel of Grottoes, David Jackson of Verona; two daughters, Vicky Good and her husband Mike of Stanley, Rebecca Marshall and her husband Dale of Mt. Sidney; two brothers, Robert "Jack" Jackson of Staunton and Percy Jackson of Waynesboro; one sister, Mary Lowery of Stuarts Draft; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two nephews and one niece. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday July 20, 2005 at Augusta Memorial Park by Rev. Peggy Corbin. Active pallbearers include Jimmy Tillman, Ray Jackson, Frank Marshall, Dabney Culley, Mike Good and Dale Marshall. The family will receive friends 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Reynolds Funeral Service of Waynesboro.
