Earl Lester Baum. 88, of Twin Falls and formerly of Hazelton, died Sunday at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center after a short illness.

Born July 30, 1895, in Decatur. Ill., he and his family settled in the Greenwood-Hazelton area in 1929. He farmed there until he retired in 1972 and moved to Twin Falls.

Mr. Baum was a veteran of World War I, serving in France, and had been a member of the American Legion for 61 years.

Surviving are: a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn E. and Netta Baum of Twin Falls; four grandchildren; a brother, Orville N. Baum of Baker, Ore.; a sister, Elsie Baum Urie of Portland, five step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 25 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Livora May Willis Baum, a son, Vern, 11 brothers and sisters, and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the 10th Ward Mormon Church in Twin Falls, with Mark Cutler officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Friends may call at White Mortuary in Twin Falls today from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m., and at the church on Wednesday from 9 until 10: 15 a.m.
