She was born in Cuylerville, NY on April 10, 1916 and came to Ithaca With her family in her teens. She was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Marie Junta Leonardo, and widow of Martin A. Hancharik who died in 1991.
Mary and Marty were married in 1951 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ithaca, and lived on Dryden Road for all their married life.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Carol A. (Roger) Jones, and Linda M. (Robertson) Muskelley; her grandchildren: Kristen L. Borgeson, Brad M. and Rachael J. Muskelley, all of Florida; her sister, Carrie McCarthy of Ithaca: also her sisters-in-law, Clara Leonardo and Fidelia Leonardo of Ithaca and GeneVieVe Snyder of Michigan; her brother-in-law. Frank (Anna) Hancharik of Ithaca: and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister, Josephine O'Connor and her brothers: Alphonse, Frank, Anthony, John and Joseph Leonardo.
Family meant everything to Mary and their house on Dryden Road was always full of relatives and friends stopping in for a chat, Coffee, and a bite to eat. We will miss her but are thankful for all the love and happiness she left in our hearts.
