Born, Elizabeth F. Anderson, Scandia, Kansas. Youngest of five siblings. Graduate of Courtland, Kansas, high school. Graduate of nursing school, 1937, St. Luke's Hospital, Chicago, IL. Entered US Army Nurse Corps, 17 Jan 1944. Served at Percy Jones Army Hospital, Battle Creek, Michigan. Served in France in WWII after D-Day. Married first husband, William Gindele in 1948. He died 1952. She married Marmaduke D. McComas M.D. late in life.
