Moses Allen Cox was the son of Levi Cox and his first wife Elizabeth Wade. After Elizabeth died, Moses's father remarried in 1838 and the family moved to Macon County in 1842. Moses married Sarah Jane Wine on September 1, 1853 and they were the parents of six children. Moses A. Cox was a farmer. His farm was on the southern end of Middle Fork Township (T56 R13 S32) not very far north of Salem Presbyterian Church. For years I searched for his burial place and after another Cox cousin sent me a letter written by my grandmother, I now know. Frankie Jane Sutton Polson (granddaughter of Moses Allen Cox) stated that her "grandpa" was buried in "Old Salem Cemetery" and that his headstone was lost because it was in the old part of the cemetery.
