AMERICAN FORK - Gail J. Harris, 54, of Orem, died shortly after arrival at American Fork Hospital, Friday, September 28, 1979 following an accident.


Mr. Harris was born January 25, 1925 in Lindon, a son of Willard L. and Alta Jane Davies Harris. He was married and later divorced.

He received his education in Lindon and Pleasant Grove schools and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Harris worked for Geneva Steel for 26 years as a locomotive engineer, retiring in 1969.

He was an elder in the LDS Church. He was an avid golfer.


Survivors include two sons and two daughters, Bruce G. Harris and Mrs. Billy (Susan) Walker, both of Pleasant Grove; Ronnie J. Harris, Orem; Mrs. Bill (Gwyne) Bohm, Eugene, Oregon; 12 grandchildren; his mother, Orem; one brother and four sisters, Leland Harris and Mrs. Harold (LaDean) Peterson, both of Orem; Dorothy Kerr, Island Park, Idaho; Mrs. Shirley (Gladys) Richards, Moses Lake, Washington; and Mrs. George (Beverly) Petersen, Salt Lake City.


Funeral services were held Tuesday in Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary Chapel, Orem. Burial took place in Orem City Cemetery. Full military rites were conducted by VFW District 4.
