Wilda Pearl Woodall

At the family's request, a private remembrance will be held at a later date for Wilda Pearl Woodall, 84. Cremation is planned.

Mrs. Woodall died July 2, 2004, at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper, comforted by her granddaughter following a valiant battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born June 12, 1920, in Harrison, Neb., to James and Hattie (Byxbe) Ammons. Although she was born the same day as her beloved twin Wendell "Deke," she was the youngest of 10 children born into the family. As a young girl, she homesteaded with her family just outside of Douglas during a time when part of the family's regular routine was enjoying each other while playing their musical instruments out on the front porch and watching deer.

Later in life she became a hairdresser or a "beauty operator," as they were known in her day. In time, she owned her own beauty shop in Tucson, Ariz., before wonderful Wyoming called her back home. Later in life, she became one of Jehovah's Witnesses and her faith and ministry work were very precious to her for more than 45 years after that.

Her first marriage was to a soldier she met during World War II, James Harrison Graham, Jr. They were later divorced. Out of their marriage came her beautiful daughter Patsy.

She later met and married Charles "Chuck" John Tolman. Together they had a very special son, Daniel Dean. Charles was a lineman and later died after a tragic accident of electrocution while working.

Her third and final marriage was to Lawrence Woodall, a widower. She inherited wonderful stepchildren and other family at this time as well. The couple became the closest of friends, sharing in their Bible education work together as Jehovah's Witnesses, and helping many others as they could to learn about precious Bible truths and promises. Later they traveled the U.S. for a while, taking in all the sites and cherishing each and every moment they had together. They especially enjoyed their many years together living in Buffalo where they spent much time in the Bighorn Mountains picnicking and fishing.

They had a garden at their home. They were known for spoiling the grandkids with shopping or a trip to the bakery for blueberry pie and ice cream. However, later in their marriage, Lawrence died due to complications from cancer.

Mrs. Woodall was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; sisters Daisie, Mary, Alice, Gertrude, Elsie and Lillie; brothers Rondell and David; and twin brother Wendell "Deke."

She is survived by her children and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; special nieces Nadine Bell of Tucson, Ariz., Kathy Tuey of Kansas City, Kan., and Ruth Bird of Deming, N.M.; and many other beloved nieces, nephews and other family. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, she is also survived by many related to her in the faith, as well as by the many smiling doctors, nurses and friends she met along this journey.

She is also survived by her devoted granddaughter Michele K. Barelle, along with her husband Allen and their children and grandchildren. Due to difficult and unforseen circumstances and in spite of her own health problems and most recent battle with breast cancer, Michele and her family had the privilege of caring for Mrs. Woodall in her final years. They grew even closer to "Grandma" during this precious time, and the many treasured moments and memories.
