Thomas was the first-born to Jonathan Downer, Jr (1800-1886) and Mary Polly Hunter (1804-1866). He married Margaret E Holmes on Jan 3 1860 in Scioto, OH. Together they had 10 children. Thomas is on the 1900 census in Lamar, CO, but not on the 1910 census. Margaret is buried in the Riverside Cemetery along with their son, Samuel. Their son, Alford, is buried in the Fairmount Cemetery in Lamar also. Thomas died while visiting family back home.
