Mr. Clarence Jones, 84, of Sylvester died Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday September 22, 2017 at Antioch Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones was born on January 5, 1933 in Turner County Georgia to the late John E. Jones Sr. and Lillie Powell Jones. He had lived in Worth County most of his life. Mr. Jones was a Veteran having served in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family especially watching his grandchildren play ball. Mr. Jones was a long time member and Deacon at Antioch Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Geneva McDonald Jones of Sylvester; children, Mike Jones (Carole), DeDe J. Hathcock (Tim) and Jamie Jones (Whitney) all of Sylvester; sister, Geneva J. Gunter (Randy) of Sylvester; brother, Tommy Jones (Lisa) of Sylvester; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Jones Fulford and Sandra Jones, both of Sylvester; grandchildren, Brett Ford, Brandon Jones (Hannah), Nicole Young (Joe), Kaleb Hathcock (Kari), Keri Watson (Clint), Drake Jones, Brylie Jones; and 7 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his brothers, Alton E. Jones, William T. Jones and Junior Jones.
