Edward 'Swede' Burklund of Dripping Springs passed away on Wednesday December 20, 2006 after a short battle with lung cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Signe Burklund and brother Elvin Burklund.
He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Lorena; two sons, Terry and his wife Lori of Blanco, Tx, and Troy and his wife Lori of Houston, Tx.; grandchildren Heath, Ryne, Cooper, Sydney and Ella Burklund; and step-grandchildren Josh, Chase and Leslie Howells. He is also survived by a brother Leroy Burklund and sisters Elvera Meredith, Margie Calhoun and husband Dan and sister-in-law Nancy Burklund, Mother-in-law Oleta Phillips, as well as numerous sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Ed was a member of Fitzhugh Baptist Church, Onion Creek Masonic Lodge, and Dripping Springs Lions Club. His career spanned over 40 years in the auto industry.
Funeral Services will be held Friday December 22, 2006 at 10:00 a.m., at Fitzhugh Baptist Church with Rev. Don Duvall officiating. Burial will be in the Fitzhugh Cemetery.
