Louis was never married. He said he only loved one woman in this world, and that was his mother. Louis died from an injury sustained on the job at A. E. Staley Manufacturing in Decatur, IL. He was changing a tire for a Semi-Tractor and the rim blew up and hit him in the head. The injuries were so massive that he never regained consciousness. Louis is buried with his parents in Calvary Cemetery. He was a great lover of horses, and owned several Thoroughbreds.
