Stinnett enjoyed gospel singing and regularly participated in the song service at Emmanuel church of the Nazarene where he had been a member since 1954.
Preceded in death by parents, Columbus Patton and Emma Purkey Stinnett; daughter, Mary Lois Stinnett; brothers, Lincoln, Charles and John Stinnett; sisters, Dona Dunlap, Pauline Trent and Gladys Hurst.
Survivors include: wife of 55 years, Susan Kagley Stinnett, daughter, Carolyn E. Stinnett of Louisville; daughter and son-in-law, Emma Louise and Harold Cunningham; granddaughter, Dawn Cunningham, all of Friendsville, brothers, Marshall A. Stinnett, the Rev Richard C. Stinnett, William C. Stinnett; sister, Lucille Carrigan, all of Maryville, many nieces, nephews and many friends.
