Mrs. Mary P. Saunders died at 3:30 o'clock July 28, 1892 at St. John's hospital, age 78 years.

She had been confined to her bed for two and a half years at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M.R. Faith, No. 226 East Allen street, and was only taken to the hospital two days ago.

Mrs. Saunders was born in Frederick county, Maryland.

Her husband died over forty years ago.

Mrs. Saunders came to Springfield from Adams county, Ohio in 1854, and has since made Springfield her home.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary R. Faith and Mrs. Sophie Barrett, of Springfield, and Mrs. Sue P. McGrath, of Warrensburg, Ill.; and two sons, William Saunders, of Springfield township, and A.E. Saunders, of Clear Lake township, both farmers.

The notice of the funeral will be announced later, pending the receipt of news from Mrs. McGrath.

SAUNDERS - The funeral services for Mrs. Mary Saunders were held at 9 o'clock July 30, 892 from St. Agnes' church, Rev. Father Howard officiating.

The interment was in Calvary cemetery.
