Mr. Hix was born in Washington Township-Grant County, and attended Washington Township #9 School. He married Anna Marie Brown on Sept. 4, 1937. He was a lifelong Washington and Van Buren Township farmer. He enjoyed bird watching.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie (Brown) Hix, Marion; son, Frank (Barbara) Hix, Marion; daughters, Carolyn (Paul) Stolz, Bryant, Benita (Roger) Beck and Louise (Chuck) Travis, both of Marion, Billie (Robert) Geotz, Rigdon, Linda (Rick) Swagger, Van Buren; thirteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burr and Bertha (Spangler) Hix; brothers, Edwin and Paul Hix; and sisters, Georgia Eakins and Opal Taylor.
