Wanda Sue Hutchings was born near Round Mountain, west of Vian on March 23,1940, the fourth child of Garrett and Era Hutchings. She had a full head of dark hair and light blue, wide set eyes. Folks remarked on her beauty. She was a pleasant, even tempered child. That trait served her all her life.
She attended both Carlile and Vian schools, where she was well liked.
After graduation, she married Robert Bennett of Stony Point, which is southwest of Vian. They made their home in Oklahoma City, then Muskogee and finally returning to Vian. In that time she gave birth to four children.
Wanda enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, and her senior citizen friends. She loved her family and church family at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
Her tragedy was the death of her son Roy.
She spent her final months at her daughters home in Kansas.
She leaves to mourn her passing children, grandchildren, sisters and a multitude of relatives and friends.
