Clara Lee Johnson, 90, of Knoxville, Illinois, formerly of Galesburg, died 2:13 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville.
She was born June 11, 1927 in Colchester, Illinois to Frank and Rosalea Farmer Bliven. She married Wilbur L. Johnson November 20, 1945 in Macomb, Illinois. He preceded her in death December 28, 2003.
Surviving is a son, Michael (and Sharon) Johnson of Galesburg, two daughters, Pamela Brock of Kentucky and Peggy Williams of Billings, Montana, a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Johnson of Washington, Illinois, a brother, Albert (and Doris) Bliven of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Gary Johnson and two sisters, Dorothy Cavett and Evelyn Schmidt.
Clara was raised in Colchester, Illinois and graduated from Colchester High School in 1945. Clara was a homemaker. She also worked for Audrey Glass Realtor in Galesburg for 17 years. Later she taught ceramic classes out of her home. She was a member of First Christian Church in Galesburg. Clara enjoyed camping and loved to travel.
Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at the chapel. Rev. Mary Runge will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Galesburg. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
