John Gary Bailey, 79, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 29, 2017. Gary was born on June 13, 1937 in Altus, Oklahoma to Jack Carl Bailey and Rose Kathleen Harrison Bailey.

He served his country and was honorably discharged from the Air Force. Gary earned an Associates degree and worked for 23 years as an Electrician at Exxon. He was a kind, gentle, and selfless man always putting others before himself. Gary was a wonderful father who enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed going to eat breakfast with his friends, playing golf, and watching football, especially the Longhorns. Gary was a member of Second Baptist Baytown and served as a Deacon for 20 years. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sonja Spencer; brother, Charles Bailey; mother-in-law, Nila Bartlett; and father-in-law, Otis Bartlett.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sandra Bailey; daughters, Susan Baker, and Karen Moss and husband Darrell; granddaughters, Samantha Baker and Kayla Moss Johnson; grandson, Cody Moss; sister, Charlotte Elaine Bailey; brother-in-law, Larry Bartlett and wife Millie; brother-in-law, Mark Bartlett and wife Cheryl; and a host of extended family and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Second Baptist Baytown, 6227 N Main St, Baytown, TX 77521. Interment will follow in Sterling White Cemetery.
