PRESQUE ISLE - Merrill W. Shaw, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday morning, May 8, 2017, at the Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Home. He was born November 1, 1925, in Presque Isle, the son of Roy W. and Pearl A. (McLean) Shaw.
He worked many years as truck driver and laborer in the potato industry. Merrill served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He attended the Easton Pentecostal Church and the Full Gospel Assembly in Mars Hill.
He is survived by a sister, Goldena Spencer of Presque Isle; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Kevin Condon and his wife, Mary, of Mapleton. He was predeceased by two wives, Sarah (Flower) Shaw and Arlene Fletcher Shaw; and his siblings, Joyce B. Shaw, Verna Condon, Roy M. "Pete" Shaw, Audrey Brown, Esther, Roix, Patricia Kiser and Robert (Bob) Shaw.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Christ Gospel Church 49 Church Street, Presque Isle, with the Rev. Larry Roix officiating. Friends may call at the church from 2 p.m. until time of service. Interment with military honors will be held at a later date at Fairmount Cemetery.
