Joseph Newmier, 89, who lived at 411 W Fourth St, died of age complications this moring at 10:20 o'clock in St Joseph's Hospital, where he had been a patient for one week. He had been in ill health for the past three years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9 o'clock Monday morning in Our Lade of Peace Catholic Church. The Rev Walter J Dillenberg will officiate and buiral will be made in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the Rembs Funeral Home starting 7 o'clock Saturday night. A general and Holy Name rosary will be recited at ?:15 o'clock Sunday night at the funeral home.

Mr Newmier was born Sept 13, 1870 in Neenah, and came to Stratford at the age of 12. On Feb 6, 1918, he married the former Gertrude Nabbefeld in St Joseph's Catholic Church at Stratford. They lived on a farm near Stratford until 1940, when they moved to Fifield. Mr Newmier retired from farming in 1945 at the age of 75 and returned to live in Marshfield. Mrs Newmier died on Sep 3 of this year.

Survivors include a daughter, Marian, Marshfield; a son, Norbert, Marshfield; and a son, Raymond, Hewitt. There are also nine grandchildren living. Other survivors include two half-brothers: Frank and John Carl, both of Stratford; and a half-sister, Mrs Barbara Hellfrisch, Duluth, Minn. Four sisters preceded him in death.

Mr Newmier was a member of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.
