Doris H. Barnett, age 90, went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2017, in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.

Doris is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Lyman Barnett, her daughter, Terri Cassity and husband Danny, of Ft. Walton Beach, daughter in law, Laura Barnett, and her grandchildren: Christopher Cassity, Elisabeth Santana and husband Stephen, William D. Barnett, Jr. & wife Brooke, Baylee Jo Barnett; Great grandchildren: William D. Barnett III, Greyson, Rylan & Hudson Santana, Kannon Barnett & Cashra. She is preceded in death by her son, David Barnett, of Ft. Walton Beach, her father, Dennis Hilton, and her mother, Josephine Hilton, of Baker, FL.

Doris was born on September 9, 1926 in Baker, FL and graduated from Baker High School in 1944. She moved to Mobile, AL to work as a Rosie Riveter at Mobile Shipyard, where she worked for two years, she then moved back to Ft. Walton Beach to work at Eglin as a secretary in Civil Service. Doris was a loving mother and grandmother. She married Lyman Barnett in 1949 and the couple had two children together.

Doris was a social, active woman who was deeply involved in her church and bowling for the majority of her life. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving and kind person.

The family will receive friends at Cinco Baptist Church February 7, 2017 from 9:30-11:00 am. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am February 7, 2017 with a family reception to follow at Cinco Baptist Church. Mickey Hawkins and Joey Rogers will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Doris's life.

The family would like to thank Ft. Walton Beach Rehabilitation and her caregiver, Angie, for their kind and loving care of her. Flowers and donations can be sent to Cinco Baptist Church at 26 Yacht Club Dr., Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32548.
