DEATH OF LEWIS CHRISTOPHERSON

Popular and Respected Citizen of Baudette Died on Tuesday

Death came Monday to Lewis Christopherson, a respected and popular citizen of Baudette. He had been ill for many months, following a stroke of apoplexy, and had been confined to his home. While not entirely unexpected, news of Mr. Christopherson's death was received with great sorrow. He was a fine old gentleman, for whom everybody in town and country had a good word, and he had many excellent qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church Wednesday afternoon, and were largely attended by sorrowing friends. Rev. O. T. Haaland delivered an eloquent tribute to the memory of deceased. Many beautiful floral offerings were in evidence.

Mr. Christopherson was born September 23, 1866, in Waupaca County, Wisconsin, and was only a few months short of being 70 years of age. He married Carrie Larson in 1897 at Stephen, Minn., and they moved to Baudette in 1917. Mrs. Christopherson and a large family of children survive. They are Alvin, Edna, Clarence, Alfred, Mrs. Ross Christianson, John, Agnes, Henry and Oscar of Baudette; Mrs. Helmer Myren of Duluth and William of International Falls. A sister, Mrs. Carl Erickson of Thief River Falls, also survives.

Mr. Christopherson was an industrious man and he worked as janitor at the court house until illness compelled him to give it up. He will be greatly missed by hosts of friends in town and country.
