Services for Norma Jean Brown, 75, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Griffin Kennedy Watts Chapel with the Revs. Dwight Hawkins and David Colaw officiating. Interment will be at McAlister Cemetery in Overbrook.
Brown was born May 15, 1925, to A.C. Pletcher Sr. and Maude Riley Pletcher south of Ardmore. She died October 28, 2000, at her residence.
She married Bill Brown September 20, 1942, in Marietta. He preceded her in death September 19,1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Cody Mack Brown; three brothers, Bruce Pletcher, A.C. Pletcher Jr. and Buck Pletcher.
She was a lifelong resident of Ardmore and a member of Marsden Baptist Church. She retired after 15 years with Uniroyal in 1986.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Lynn Brown and Richard Brown, both of Overbrook; two daughters, Charlotte Crum of Collinsville, Texas, and Pamela Bates of Prosper, Texas; three brothers, Brice Pletcher, Ardmore, E.W. Pletcher, Davis, and W.W. "Bub" Pletcher, Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Reda "Cupie" Taylor, Ardmore, and Marie Barnshaw, Del City; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Terry Underwood, Raymond Pletcher, Glen Routen, Robert Pletcher, Berry Taylor, Dusty Heminway, Jack Pletcher and Loren Hacker. Honorary bearers will be her grandsons and all nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
