Byron Allison
Byron B. Allison, 67, of 628 Florida Ave., Chester, died Monday at 5:45 p.m. at the East Liverpool Extended Care Center after a lingering illness. Mr. Allison was born Feb. 4, 1913, in Pughtown, the son of the late Burgess W. Allison and Alice Kessel Allison. He retired in 1978 from the accounting department of the Crucible Steel Division of the Colt Industries at Midland. Mr. Allison was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 121 where he served as commander and adjutant, a member of the VFW Post 6450 of Chester, and a member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife, Mrs. Thelma Sayre Allison whom he married Sept 11, 1946, he is survived by on son, Byron (Pete) Allison at home; one brother, Dale K. Allison of Chester, and one sister, Mrs. John H. (Mary) Remley of Indianapolis. Services will be conducted Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Arner Funeral Chapel of Chester, with Dr. George Espy of the Westminster Church officiating. Friends may call at the Arner Chapel Wednesday afternoon and evening where the family will be present from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Burial will be in Columbiana Memorial Park where the Grant District Burial Group will conduct military services.
