Thomas A. Gileau 89, the grandfather of 50 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren died yesterday at Rhode Island Hospital where he had been confined for the last 12 day's.
Mr. Gileau lived on Walker Road in Foster, R. I. for the last 10 yrs.. He was the husband of Grace V.(Cole)and his 1st wife was the late Clara A (Dumoulin).
Born in Gramby, Que., Canada a son of the late John and Esther (Maille) Gileau of Canada. He was a former resident of Parker St.in Coventry where he lived for many yrs..
Besides his wife and grandchildren he is survived by ten sons, Wilfred of Coventry, RI, Arthur, of Voluntown, Conn., Henry of Ashaway, RI. Omer of Paso Robles, Calif., John of West Greenwich, RI, William & Ernest of Coventry, RI, George (Pete) of NH, Armond of Coventry, RI and Norman of Richmond Va. six daughters Delia Cote of Danilson Conn., Mary Rose Onley of North Scituate, RI, Esther Di Prete of Long Beach Calif. Florence Cooper of Saugus Mass., Blanche Oliver of Barrington and Dora Plourde of Coventry, RI and a brother Manual Gileau of Roxton Pond, Que. Canada; step son Carlton W. Cole of Foster.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:15 from the Frank R. Gorton & Son Funeral Home 721 Washington St Coventry, with a requiem Mass. in St Vincent De Paul Church, Coventry, at 9:00. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery, on Church St in West Warwick, RI.
