Ozella was the daughter of Henry L. Askew and Charity M. Winslow. She was educated in the Houston County School System. She joined Friendship Baptist Church in Henderson, Georgia at a young age. Later in life, she relocated to Fort Myers, Florida where she joined the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church.
She was preceded in death by 1 son, Rudolph Askew, 1 Sister, Mary J. Farms, 2 brothers-in-law, Greg Scott and Kenneth Lumpkin and her mother, Charity M. Farms.
