Stella Mae Billings daughter of William Ellis Billings and Rosa Ennis Truitt was born 7 July 1920 in the Nile community of Alleghany County, North Carolina. Stella grew up on the family farm and attended Alleghany County Schools graduating in 1938.
She then left the farm and resided in North Wilkesboro where she attended Business School and worked for the Government. After the agency closed, Stella moved to the Washington DC area where she met and married Napoleon "Nip" Joseph Sobolewski on 7 June 1947 in the District of Columbia.
Stella and Napoleon purchased a house in Suitland, Maryland where they resided and raised their five children.
Stella passed away unto Glory 26 January 2017 in Washington DC and was laid to rest next to Napoleon on 8 February 2017 in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland.
