John Bierman, 85, died unexpectedly Wednesday in his home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Laurin Buzynski officiating. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday in McKown Funeral Home. Rosaries will be recited at 7:30 and 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
Bierman was born in Lindsay Dec. 3, 1894, son of William and Theresa (Herr) Bierman. He attended St. Bernard Parochial School. He married Clara Schaefer in St. Bernard May 24, 1919.
He farmed in the St. Bernard and Lindsay areas until he retired in 1955 and moved to Columbus, where he was a carpenter until retiring. He was a member of the
Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and Third Order.
He is survived by his widow; three sons, Willard and Gene Bierman of Columbus and Cyril Bierman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and four daughters, Mrs. Fritz (Imelda) Loeffler of Columbus, Mrs. Walter (Delores) Albracht of Lindsay, Mrs. Ben (Bernice) Syslo of Fullerton and Mrs. Joe (Elaine) Konwinski of Silver Creek.
He is also survived by a brother, Henry Bierman of Detroit, Mich; 36 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John Bierman; five brothers and four sisters.
