Clara (Mrs. John H.) Bierman, 85, of Columbus, died Thursday evening at Fullerton Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Rev. Laurin Buzynski officiating. Burial is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Visitation is after 2 p.m. Sunday at McKown Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Bierman was born March 11, 1897 at St. Bernard, the daughter of Michael and Gertrude (Cremers) Schaefer. She received her education at St. Bernard Catholic School.
She married John H. Bierman May 27, 1919 at St. Bernard. They lived in the Lindsay community until retiring in 1955 and moving to Columbus.
Mrs. Bierman was a homemaker. She belonged to St. Anthony Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Mission Sewing Club and the Secular Order of St. Francis.
Surviving are four daughters, Delores (Mrs. Walter) Albracht of Lindsay, Imelda (Mrs. Fritz) Loeffler of Columbus, Bernice (Mrs. Ben) Syslo of Fullerton and Elaine (Mrs. Joe) Konwinski of Silver Creek; three sons, Willard and Gene, both of Columbus and Cyril of Cincinnati, Ohio; 37 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ted Schaefer of Sidney; and two sisters, Rose (Mrs. Tony) Kurtenbach of Columbus and Mary (Mrs. Bill) Biermann of Humphrey.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980, an infant son, seven brothers and five sisters.
