Lola Abbott Allen, 81, Science Hill, died Monday, February 3, at her residence.
She was born in Pulaski County on May 15, 1904, the daughter of the late Willie and Isabell Dunsmore Wilson. She was a homemaker and member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Allen, whom she married on May 12, 1975; two daughters, Pauline Gholson, Science Hill and Phyllis Isaacs, Oak Hill community; seven stepchildren, Wanda Newberry, Atlanta, Georgia, Parker and Steve Allen, both of Hamilton, Ohio, Glenn Allen, Somerset, Foister Allen, Kennisville, Florida, Marie Hacker, London, and Dallas Allen, Fort Wayne, Indiana; two sisters, Hattie Calder, Science Hill and Mary Smith, Decatur, Illinois; nine grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Henry Abbott, whom she married on October 19, 1927; two children, Janis W. Abbott and Roland Wayne Abbott; a stepchild, Hearst Allen; a brother, Chester Wilson; three sisters, Minnie Shadoan, Delphia Abbott, and Martha Owens; and two grandchildren.
Services will be tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Slagle and Dr. Harold Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
