Burial was in the Albany cemetery under the direction of Godfrey Funeral Home.

He died at 9:55 last Thursday morning in the Shackelford County Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He was a patient in the M. D. Anderson Hospital at Houston before being brought to the local hospital several weeks before his death.

Benjamin Gholson Reynolds was born April 5, 1884, in Throckmorton County, son of the late Phin W. and Rose Reynolds, pioneer residents of the area. He grew up here and attended the Albany schools. When a young man he attended the Reynolds Academy and the Hanover college in Southern Illinois, and while there met his future wife, Miss Lucy Mote Mintier of Temple, Ky., also a student at Hanover. They were married June 15, 1908, and came to Albany to live.

Mr. Reynolds ranched five years in Stonewall County and they lived in Scurry County a number of years, where he operated a ranch. They returned to Albany in 191.

Mr. Reynolds became chief of police here in 1931, and served in this capacity until his health began to fail about a year ago. He then served as city judge.

He had been a member of the First Christian Church for 32 years, and was a member of the Woodmen of the World.

Mrs. Reynolds died Nov. 14, 1952, in a car accident.
