FORMER RESIDENT IS BURIED AT ELSINORE MONDAY AFTERNOON
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon in the Elsinore Ward Chapel for Mrs. Mary Lavina Johnson Howes Jensen, 85, who passed away at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Leonard Barney, in Elsinore Thursday of last week of causes incident to age.
Mrs. Jensen was born in Monroe in March, 1859, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. King Johnson. She married Isaiah Howes, who proceeded her in death 20 years ago. Later she married Joseph Jensen, who died in March, 1942.
Most of her life she lived in Marysvale and it was here she raised her family. However her later years were spent in Elsinore.
She is survived by one son, Hyrum Howes of Brigham City; seven grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Charles Keeler, Lehi; Mrs. Ben Goodman, Evanston, Wyoming; Ben Johnson, Roosevelt, and Alma Johnson, Monroe.
Services were in charge of Bishop Lorin Christiansen, with burial in the cemetery at Marysvale.

Mrs. Jensen spent all the later part of her life in Elsinore where she was an active worker in the L.D.S. church.
Funeral services were conducted Monday in the Elsinore ward Chapel by Bishop Lorin P Christiansen. Program numbers were as follows:
Ladies' double duet, "Abide with Me," Mrs. Horace Peterson, Mrs. Marie Larsen, Mrs. Armour Hill and Mrs. Stiner Busk, accompanied by Mrs. Leon Madsen, prayer, A.O. Engar; ladies' duet, "Beyond Today", talk by Leon T. Madsen; tribute, read by M.D. Sorensen, duet, "In The Garden," sung by Stiner Busk and Ted Whiting, accompanied by Golda Busk; talk, Ivan L. Foisy of Richfield; remarks Bishop Christiansen; closing song, ladies' duet, "Rock of Ages," benediction, Joseph Hubbard.
Burial was in the Marysvale Cemetery where D. Clarence Howes dedicated the grave.
