Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Brigham City Sixth LDS Ward for Hyrum Howes, 70, former resident of Maryvale, who died Friday at 7:30 p.m. in an Ogden hospital, after a brief illness.
Mr. Howes was born December 20, 1876, at Monroe, Sevier County, Utah a son of Isiah and Mary Levina Johnson Howes, he spent most of his life in Marysvale, where he engaged in farming. He moved to Corinne four years ago and moved last year to Brigham City. He married Olive Nancy Rudd at Junction, October 6, 1898. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Besides his wife, he is survived by the following sons and daughters: Lloyd Howes, Marysvale; Ernest Howes, Heber; Ralph, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Nancy Lindley, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Alvirda Howes McCoy, Bear River City; Mrs. Ada Morill, Marysvale; and Mrs. Dora Barney, Elsinore; 27 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted by Bishop Floyd Jensen, with burial in the Brigham City Cemetery.
