WASHINGTON TERRACE Harriet (Maxine) Turner Smith passed away, surrounded by family, on January 11, 2011. She was born July 14, 1929 in Ogden, Utah to Percy and Frances Turner. She married the love of her life, Bill Marshall Smith, on May 29, 1946. He passed away in 1980.
Maxine attended Ogden High and Weber State University. She worked for the Ogden City School Music Department and as a secretary for the IRS and HAFB.
She enjoyed singing and playing the piano for family, reading and crossword puzzles. She was the historian of the family, saving letters and scrapbooking. She loved spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren.
She was a member of the LDS Church, serving as a Relief Society Visiting Teacher, Primary Teacher and Stake Young Women�s President.
Maxine is survived by a daughter, Fawn Smith Carlin; a daughter-in-law, Becky Smith; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 10 great great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Bertha Johnson of California and Jodi Crevillo of Ogden. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Smith; son, David B. Smith; and daughter, Starrlette Howard.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 16, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Myers Mortuary and from 2 � 2:45 p.m. on Monday prior to the services.
Interment Washington Heights Memorial Park.
