James C. Skidmore Jr., 81, of Tiffin, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 26, 2016.

He was born March 27, 1935, in Fullerton, Kentucky, to James Sr. and Marie (Pennington) Skidmore. He married Norma Jean Summers Oct. 5, 1957.

Survivors include his wife, Norma of Tiffin; of Tiffin; two daughters,of Tiffin and of Pickerington; brother,of Indiana; three sisters, of Beauty Ridge, Kentucky, of Portsmouth and of South Shore, Kentucky; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lindsay Ray Skidmore, Michael Lee Skidmore, Andrew J. Skidmore and infant brother, Glen Skidmore; three sisters, Oleta Brown, Nannie Bailey and his infant twin sister, Joan Mae Skidmore; and his two dogs, Missay and Abbie.

Jim served in the United States Army from 1954-1957 and was manager at Sherwin Williams, retiring in March of 1997 after 33 1/2 years. He was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ where he was an elder, trustee, congressional president and volunteer. He also was a member of T-Squares and enjoyed refinishing antiques and going to the bark park. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and was devoted to his wife after her illness.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin
