LINDSEY SKIDMORE
(1939-1995)

Lindsey R. Skidmore, 56, of Wheelersburg, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 1995, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

Born July 24, 1939, in Lewis County, Ky., the son of the late James Clay and Marie Pennington Skidmore, he was a self-employed contractor.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Helmandollar Skidmore, whom he married May 28, 1962; four daughters, Mrs. Laura Plummer of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Leslie Bonilla of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Lisa Turner of Indianapolis, Ind., and Leanna Skidmore of Wheelersburg; a son, Lindsey Ray Skidmore Jr. of Wilksville; four brothers, James Clay Skidmore Jr. of Tiffin, Andrew Skidmore of Columbus, William Skidmore of South Shore, Ky., and Michael Skidmore of Michigan; four sisters, Mrs. Linda Lawson of Minford, Mrs. Suzanne James and Mrs. Betty Carter both of South Shore and Mrs. Nan Bailey of Portsmouth; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, O'Leta Brown and Joan Skidmore.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore with the Rev. Dave Plummer officiating, and interment at the Firebrick (Ky.) Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the services Tuesday.
